Warm Stone Studio was created in the summer of 2000 by local Nashua potter Rita Nichols.  Since then it has grown and changed in many ways.  New members have joined, some have moved on, wheels have been added and Warm Stone as a community has blossomed.

Under Rita's direction Warm Stone became a place where people of all levels of ability and experience in pottery could come together and freely share ideas without fear of judgement or exclusion.  She fostered an environment of acceptance where all were welcome. 

But as all things must change, Rita and her husband Fred decided in the Fall of 2004 that it was time for them to build the house and studio they had always wanted.  So they moved to Western Pennsylvania to pursue their dream and sold Warm Stone Studio to a new ceramic upstart named Leslie Maloof.  Leslie has been a member of Warm Stone Studio since 2000 and recently graduated from the New Hampshire Insititute of Art with a BFA in Ceramics and big dreams of starting her own teaching studio.  It was a fortuitous turn of events.

Warm Stone Studio may have changed owners, but it's intent and philosophy remains unchanged.  It is a creative space accessible to all who wish to take advantage of the opportunities it offers.
